The Bridge for Heroes proudly works alongside their partner charities in the East of England region to develop better, more joined up lasting support for local veterans with mental health needs as part of the VPPP programme.
A representative from the VPPP East of England region attended the recent āOur One Is Too Many: Suicide Preventionā conference on 11 October 2023.
The conference brought together representatives from government, NHS, the charity sector and MOD to consider the positive influence of the One Is Too Many programme. Personal accounts were heard from Veterans who have struggled with mental health and updates on the excellent work taking place in support of suicide prevention were discussed.
As all our partners continue to see beneficiaries presenting multiple issues, the heart of collaboration that VPPP strives to improve is showing real benefits. With the cost-of-living crisis hitting certain communities hard, veterans vulnerable to mental health, addiction and other issues can be particularly effected. Working together is proving even more important to handle these more complex cases.
